Daimler Commercial Vehicles names Mena President

Daimler Commercial Vehicles Mena (DCV Mena) has announced the appointment of Michael Dietz as its new President and CEO, effective April 1. An industry veteran with years of experience, Dietz succeeds Kay-Wolf Ahlden, who retired from Daimler Truck on December 31, 2023. 
 
Throughout his career, Dietz has held various leadership positions in both markets and headquarters. He has previously led the Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks division and served as the Global Head of Marketing Mercedes-Benz Trucks. 
 
Since January 2020, Dietz served as President and Group CEO at the Regional Center Southern Africa, where he played a pivotal role in the establishment of the DTSA Group of Companies and the development of the Daimler Truck Campus, including the new headquarters in Pretoria.
 
Andreas von Wallfeld, Head of Daimler Truck Overseas (DTO) said: "With his wealth of experience and expertise, we are excited to welcome Dietz as the new President and CEO, Regional Center Middle East and Africa."
 
"He has successfully contributed to the growth and business development of Daimler Truck in the regions and we wish him all the best and success in his future role. We would also like to thank Kay-Wolf Ahlden, for outstanding achievements and contributions to the organization. We wish him all the best for his retirement," he added. 
 
During the interim period until March 31, 2024, Sandro Ringeling, the current Chief Financial Officer of DCV Mena will act as the interim CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Mena FZE, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership.
 
On his new role, Dietz said: "This is a dynamic and diverse region with great potential for growth and innovation. I really look forward working with our highly experienced team and our strong General Distributor partners to drive and deliver the industry-leading product- and services portfolio to our esteemed customers in the markets."
 
Kay-Wolf Ahlden has worked in the commercial vehicle industry for the last decades.
 
He held various international assignments in Brazil, Argentina and took positions in sales, aftersales and network development for countries like US, Canada, Belgium/Luxemburg and Southern Europe. 
 
He also headed the Regional Centers of Latina, South East Asia and Middle East, where he played a key role in expanding the performance of Daimler Truck in these markets.-TradeArabia News Service
