UAE authorities slam 'Dubai plane crash' rumours

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has dismissed as fake news the rumours circulating on social media about yesterday's plane crash in Dubai, ensuring that this news is misleading and untrue.

The Authority stressed that it is the sole authenticated source of information related to aviation sector in the country, reported state news Agency Wam.

Rubbishing the Dubai plane crash story as fake news, the GCAA stressed that it was the only source of information with regard to the aviation sector in the UAE and no such incident had taken place.

"We ensure the public that this news is misleading and not true and urge them not to circulate these rumours through social media," it added.
